TORONTO?-?

You can retire that old joke: ?Waiter, there?s a fly-ball in my soup.?

Windows Restaurant at the Rogers Centre is no more.

The Blue Jays tweeted out a photo Tuesday showing that the restaurant, a long-time fixture at the stadium, is now window-less as construction crews transform it into a new amenity for fans.

?Major Changes happening at @Rogers_Centre @BlueJays #LoveThisTeam #TheWindowsAreGone,? read the tweet.

The team said Windows has not been used recently ? it did not have a tenant last season. The area will be opened up, creating a new open-air space with picnic tables.

It is expected that the area will be a porch-like, stand-up bar.

With attendance expected to swell after the Blue Jays made some flashy player acquisitions in the off-season, the franchise is trying to optimize use of the stadium. The new area will not require separate tickets.

Sightlines Carvery and Bar ? located in the area above the new space ? will continue to operate.

Windows was a three-tiered banquet facility that could accommodate up to 1,000 people, according to the Rogers Centre website.
